Katia “Ekaterina” Pelowich
Elite Forward. Relentless Leader. Rising Star in Women’s Hockey. Katia “Kat” Pelowich is the heart of the St. Thomas University Tommies — a fierce, fast, and focused forward who wears the captain’s “C” with pride. Hailing from Stouffville, Ontario, Kat has become a force in Canadian university hockey, known not only for her scoring touch but for her tenacity, work ethic, and ability to elevate everyone around her. On the ice, Kat dominates. She’s among the top scorers in the ultra-competitive Atlantic University Sport (AUS) conference, and her performance earned her a place on Team Canada’s roster at the 2025 FISU Winter World University Games in Torino, Italy. There, she helped lead her country to a silver medal, proving she can rise to any challenge on the world stage. Off the ice, Kat is just as driven. A recent graduate with a Bachelor of Arts, she’s now pursuing her Bachelor of Education while continuing to lead the Tommies. Her academic success is a testament to her time management, discipline, and vision — qualities that make her a role model for young female athletes across the country. With professional aspirations set, Kat’s story is far from over. She represents everything Rink Rebels believes in: grit, grace, and growth
