WHY FRIENDSHIP MATTERS
Female athletes thrive when they’re surrounded by encouragement, connection, and a sense of belonging. In many rinks, girls are still the minority — often isolated on boys’ teams or shuffled into limited programs. The Friendship Tournament is our way of changing that. Here, every team is a girls’ team, and every player has a chance to shine.
We believe in:
- Cheering for the quiet kids
- Celebrating the game — not just the scoreboard
- Creating safe spaces where girls can lead, learn, and lift each other up
FEMALE HOCKEY IN NEW BRUNSWICK & ATLANTIC CANADA
In New Brunswick, female hockey is growing — but it’s still underserved. Access, visibility, and quality development are not yet equal. Rink Rebels is stepping in to change that.
Our tournament is:
- A showcase for female talent in Atlantic Canada
- A platform for rural and urban communities to come together
- A testing ground for new formats, inclusive rules, and leadership development
- A weekend full of energy, empowerment, and inspiration
We’re not just running a tournament — we’re building a movement.
WHAT WE’RE BUILDING
Our vision extends far beyond this weekend:
- Local development programs year-round for girls of all levels
- Training tools and mentorship opportunities led by female coaches
- Provincial partnerships that give NB girls more rinks, more reps, and more role models
- A culture shift where girls don’t just feel welcome in hockey — they own it
THE FUTURE IS FEMALE — AND IT’S ON ICE
When a girl feels powerful in skates, everything else changes. She carries that confidence into school, into leadership, into life. The Rink Rebels Tournament is where that transformation begins.
Whether she scores the game-winner or just makes a new friend — every girl leaves here stronger.
